Refund Policy

Last updated: 26 July 2026 · Effective date: 26 July 2026

This Refund Policy explains when and how you can obtain a refund for a paid subscription to Annot (the “Service”), operated by Fintela Yapay Zeka ve Bilişim Teknolojileri A.Ş. It forms part of our Terms of Service.

The short version

  • Full refund within 30 days of any charge — initial purchase, renewal, or upgrade. No reason needed. Email support@useannot.com.
  • Cancelling and refunding are different: cancelling stops future charges and you keep access until the period ends; a refund returns your money and ends paid access immediately.
  • Nothing is deleted. After a refund your account reverts to Free and content above the Free allowances becomes read-only — still viewable, searchable, and exportable.
  • Your statutory consumer rights always apply on top of this policy.

1. Overview

Fintela is a joint-stock company incorporated in the Republic of Türkiye and registered with the Ankara Trade Registry under number 524478. “Annot” is a trading name and product of Fintela and is not a separate legal entity.

Annot is sold to individual consumers. We do not currently offer business, team, or multi-seat plans.

Our order process and payments are handled by our merchant of record, Paddle — Paddle.com Market Limited or another company in the Paddle group, depending on where you are located. Because Paddle is the merchant of record for your purchase, refunds are processed by Paddle, and this policy applies alongside Paddle's Buyer Terms and Paddle's separate Refund Policy. The Paddle entity you are contracting with, and the current version of those terms, are shown at checkout and on your receipt.

This policy does not limit any statutory rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. §8 explains how our guarantee sits alongside those rights.

2. Cancelling and refunding are two different things

The two are different:

  • Cancelling stops future charges. You can cancel at any time, for any reason. Cancelling does not return money you have already paid, and you keep access to your paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • A refund returns money that has already been charged. Refunds are covered by the 30-day guarantee in §3.

You do not need to cancel in order to request a refund. If we issue a refund, your paid plan ends immediately — you get your money back, but you do not keep access for the rest of the period you had paid for. (If you are refunding an upgrade rather than the plan itself, you return to your previous plan instead.) See §5.

So if you are part-way through a billing period and no longer want to continue, it is worth comparing the two: cancelling lets you use the plan until the period ends, while a refund returns your money but ends your access straight away. If you are not sure which is better for you, email support@useannot.com and we will explain your options before anything is processed.

3. 30-day money-back guarantee

If you change your mind about a paid plan, you may request a full refund within 30 days of the date of the charge — whether that charge is your initial purchase, a renewal, or a charge for upgrading your plan. Email support@useannot.com and we will arrange it.

You do not need to give a reason, and we will not apply conditions to a change-of-mind refund made within this window beyond those set out in §7.

One change-of-mind refund per customer. The guarantee is available once per customer, identified by your account and the email address used at checkout. If you subscribe again after receiving a change-of-mind refund, later charges are not covered by this guarantee, although your statutory rights and §6 and §7 continue to apply.

Requests made after 30 days. We will still look at them. We consider these individually — the circumstances you describe, how the Service has been used since the charge, and whether you have had a refund from us before — and we may approve a refund in full, approve a partial refund, or decline. We will always tell you the reason for our decision.

The one-refund limit applies to change-of-mind refunds only. It does not affect a refund where you were charged for a renewal you did not intend (§6), where something has gone wrong with the Service, or where consumer law gives you a right to a refund. Those are never counted against your one change-of-mind refund.

4. How to request a refund

There are two ways.

  • Email us — this is the route we recommend. Write to support@useannot.com from the email address you used at checkout, or quoting that address, and include your Paddle order or receipt number if you have it. Tell us what you would like refunded. If you are within the 30-day window you do not need to give a reason; if more time has passed, set out the circumstances so that we can consider your request. We will confirm receipt and respond within 5 business days. If your request falls within the guarantee in §3, we will arrange the refund with Paddle. Otherwise we will consider it and tell you our decision and the reason for it.
  • Ask Paddle — because Paddle is the merchant of record for your purchase, you can also request a refund directly through Paddle's buyer support at paddle.net, using your checkout email or the link in a Paddle email. Paddle handles requests made to it under its own refund policy together with the policy we have asked it to apply to Annot purchases, and may check with us before deciding.

We would rather you came to us first. Coming to us means this policy is applied to your request from the start, and we can answer questions about your plan, your content, and your account that Paddle cannot.

If what you want is to stop future charges rather than to get your money back, that is a cancellation rather than a refund, and you can do it yourself — see §6. Nothing in this policy prevents you from exercising a statutory right by any means you choose (§8).

Once a refund is approved, it is issued to your original payment method. The time it then takes to appear is determined by your payment provider and is outside our control; it is normally 5 to 10 business days after Paddle processes the refund.

5. What happens to your account after a refund

When a refund is issued:

  • Your paid plan ends immediately, and paid features and allowances stop being available — except where the refund is of an upgrade charge (see below).
  • Your account reverts to the Free plan. You do not lose your account.
  • Nothing is deleted. Content you saved above the Free plan's allowances becomes read-only — you can still view, search, and export all of it in the Annot app, but you cannot edit it or add new content beyond the Free plan's limits until you subscribe again.
  • Your connected tools stay connected. Your MCP endpoint remains in place and you do not need to set it up again. Once you reach the Free plan's limits, requests from your connected tools receive a message explaining that a paid plan is needed, instead of returning your saved content. Your content is still there, and is still available to you in the app and through export.
  • We delete your content only if you ask us to, or if you delete your account. You can export a full copy of your data at any time from Account → Data in the app.

If we issue a partial refund — for example as a goodwill gesture when something has gone wrong — your plan is not affected and continues as normal, unless we agree otherwise with you at the time.

If the refund is of an upgrade charge — for example, you moved from Pro to Max and then changed your mind — you return to the plan you were on immediately before the upgrade, and that plan continues to its normal renewal date. You do not drop to the Free plan, and the read-only rule above applies only to content that exceeds the allowances of the plan you return to.

6. Renewals, cancellation, and changing plans

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period — monthly or annually, matching the cycle you chose — at the then-current price, unless cancelled beforehand.

Before we renew you

We will email you before each annual renewal, at least 7 days in advance, telling you the date and the amount. If we are changing the price, we will tell you before the change applies; a new price only ever takes effect from your next renewal, never retroactively.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, in either of two ways:

  • In the Annot app — from your account settings.
  • Through Paddle — using the buyer portal linked from your subscription confirmation email and your receipts.

Cancelling by either route stops all future renewals, leaves your access to the paid plan intact until the end of the period you have already paid for, and does not, by itself, refund the current period.

If you want your money back for the current period as well, request a refund under §3 — provided you are within 30 days of that charge.

Changing plans

You can move between paid plans at any time in the app.

  • Upgrading is charged when you make the change. If you change your mind, that charge is refundable under §3, and §5 explains what happens to your plan.
  • Downgrading takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You keep your current plan and its allowances until then, and the lower price applies from your next renewal. We do not issue a credit or a partial refund for the remainder of a period you have already paid for.

Renewals you did not intend

If you are charged for a renewal you did not mean to continue, email support@useannot.com and we will arrange a refund. We will do this even if more than 30 days have passed, provided you have not made significant use of the Service since that renewal.

If a renewal payment fails

If a renewal payment cannot be collected, your paid plan stays active while Paddle retries it, and we will email you so that you can update your payment details. If the payment still cannot be collected after those attempts, your subscription ends and your account reverts to the Free plan, with the read-only rules in §5 applying to content above the Free plan's allowances. Nothing is deleted, and your plan is restored if you complete the payment or subscribe again.

7. Exceptions

We may decline a request where:

  • you have already received a change-of-mind refund from us, except where applicable law gives you a further right;
  • there is evidence of fraud, or of deliberate abuse of this policy — for example repeated purchase-and-refund cycles, or sharing or reselling access to your account;
  • you are in serious breach of our Terms of Service; or
  • the payment can no longer be refunded through the original payment method, because payment providers only allow refunds for a limited period after a charge. Where this happens we will tell you. This does not affect any refund we are required to make under consumer law.

A request made more than 30 days after the charge is not automatically declined. §3 explains how we consider those.

Where we decline a refund, we will tell you why. Declining a request under this section does not affect any statutory right you have — see §8.

8. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy replaces or limits the rights you have under consumer law.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to withdraw from your subscription within 14 days of entering into it, without giving a reason. To exercise that right, send us a clear statement to that effect at support@useannot.com before the 14 days end — for example, “I withdraw from my Annot subscription.” We will acknowledge your notice and refund all payments you have made within 14 days of receiving it, using the same payment method you used for the purchase. You do not need to use the process in §4 for this: a withdrawal is a right you exercise, not a request we assess.

The 30-day guarantee in §3 covers a longer period than the statutory 14 days and applies to each charge. This section applies in addition to it.

Wherever you live, if your local law gives you a longer refund window or a stronger right than this policy, that law applies and we will honour it. To exercise a statutory right, email support@useannot.com.

Your purchase is also subject to the terms of Paddle, our merchant of record, which set out the statutory rights that apply to transactions Paddle processes.

9. Chargebacks and payment disputes

If something has gone wrong with a payment, email support@useannot.com before raising a dispute with your bank. A bank dispute takes considerably longer to resolve than a refund we arrange directly, and while one is open neither we nor Paddle can process a refund for the same charge.

If a charge for a paid plan is reversed through a bank dispute, the payment for that period no longer stands and your account reverts to the Free plan, as described in §5. Your content is not deleted. If the dispute is later resolved in a way that restores the payment, we will restore your plan.

If you are disputing a payment you did not authorise — for example because your card was used without your knowledge — contact us and we will help you resolve it. We will not treat that as a reason to restrict your account.

10. Free plan

Our free plan does not involve any payment, so no refunds apply. No payment card is required to use it. You can stop using the Service or downgrade at any time.

11. Fees, taxes, and currency

We do not charge a fee for requesting or processing a refund.

A full refund is for the entire amount you were charged, including any VAT or sales tax collected by Paddle. Where we approve a partial refund, it includes the corresponding proportion of that tax. Payment-processing fees are not deducted from your refund; we bear them.

Refunds are issued in the currency of the original charge and to the payment method you used for it. Where your bank or card issuer applies a different exchange rate to the refund than it applied to the original charge, that difference is set by them and is outside our control.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when it was last revised.

We handle every refund request under the version of this policy that is published when you make the request. If we make a change that reduces your rights under this policy, we will tell you by email before it takes effect, so that you can cancel before your next charge if you prefer.
